...A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 900 AM EDT FOR GRANT... BLACKFORD...SOUTHERN WELLS...ADAMS AND JAY COUNTIES... At 348 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that the large area of moderate to locally heavy rain that has impacted since this afternoon was diminishing. However, radar estimated 2 inches or more of rain has fallen in the warning area. Flooding is being reported across Jay county with portions of State Routes 1, 67 and 26 flooded at this time. Flooding is also being reported along the Salamonie River. An additional quarter to half inch of rain is possible into Friday morning. Water levels are likely to remain high in some areas. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Marion, Bluffton, Portland, Hartford City, Gas City, Berne, Upland, Fairmount, Dunkirk, Montpelier, Jonesboro, Redkey, Geneva, Sweetser, Swayzee, Van Buren, Monroe, Pennville, Matthews and Westchester.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

* At 10 PM Thursday the stage was 12.2 feet and falling.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Friday afternoon and crest near 19.9 feet around 8 AM Sunday April 28. Additional rises are possible thereafter.

* At 19.5 feet...Flooding expands into more farm land in the Decatur area. Flood waters approach Piqua Road...US 224...Ohio State Route 49 and Indiana 101 just north of Pleasant Mills. Flood water begins to cross Ohio highway 49 north of Wilshire, Ohio.

* This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.7 feet which occurred on Dec 29 2015. &&

* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage early Friday morning and crest near 13.0 feet around 2 PM Sunday April 28 and fall below flood stage around 10 PM Monday April 29.

* At 14.0 feet...Secondary roads are blocked. Roads near the east side of Geneva begin to flood. Some evacuations may be required and property needs to be transferred to higher ground.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Northern Darke County in west central Ohio... Auglaize County in west central Ohio... Mercer County in west central Ohio...

* Until 845 AM EDT Friday.

* At 239 AM EDT, local law enforcement officials have reported numerous road closures across the warning area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Radar indicated that moderate rain will fall for the remainder of the overnight hours with up to another half inch of rain possible. Runoff from this rainfall will result in continued flooding issues for the Friday morning commute.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Celina, Wapakoneta, St. Marys, Coldwater, Union City, New Bremen, Minster, St. Henry, Cridersville, Fort Recovery, Rockford, New Knoxville, Moulton, Wabash, Mendon, Osgood, Chickasaw, Burkettsville, North Star and Buckland.
