* Portions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, including the following areas, in Indiana, Dearborn, Fayette IN, Franklin IN, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union IN, and Wayne. In Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton, and Robertson. In Ohio, Adams, Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette OH, Franklin OH, Greene, Hamilton, Hardin, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Logan, Madison, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby, Union OH, and Warren.

* Scattered showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous this afternoon and especially into the evening and overnight. Given extremely saturated soils and rivers and streams already running high, the potential for flash flooding is particularly high. Any storm could bring rainfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour, and rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are possible over the next couple of days.

People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued. Avoid low-lying areas, and be careful when approaching highway dips and underpasses.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON... The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northern Indiana and northwest Ohio, including the following areas, in northern Indiana, Adams, Blackford, Grant, Jay, and Wells. In northwest Ohio, Allen OH, Putnam, and Van Wert.

* From this afternoon through Thursday afternoon

* Heavy rainfall is possible from late this afternoon through Thursday morning. Saturated ground from recent rainfall coupled with any heavy rain that falls from slow moving thunderstorms could quickly runoff and create flooding. Rainfall amounts between 1 and 3 inches are possible.

* Rapid rises of streams, creeks and rivers are possible given saturated soils. Roads in poor drainage areas may become impassable with water flowing across them.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

* At 9 PM Tuesday the stage was 11.2 feet and steady.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

* Forecast...The river will fall below the 11.0 foot flood stage around 8 AM Wednesday June 19.

* At 11.0 feet...Flooding of lowland areas around Stryker can be expected.

* This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.9 feet which occurred on Jun 1 2015. &&

Never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow children to play in or near flood waters.
