...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 PM CDT THURSDAY... An Air Quality Action Day has been declared by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management for Allen, Elkhart, Huntington, La Porte, and St. Joseph in Indiana...and is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 11 PM CDT Thursday. Ozone Levels are expected to be in the Orange or unhealthy for sensitive groups range. People and businesses are urged to avoid activities which lead to ozone formation. These activities include...refueling vehicles or topping off when refueling, using gasoline powered lawn equipment and using charcoal lighter fluid. Positive activities include...car pooling, biking to work, delaying or combining errands and using water based paints. It is recommended that people with respiratory diseases such as asthma limit prolonged outdoor exertion. ...The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers... North Branch Elkhart River at Cosperville affecting Noble County .Runoff from heavy rain overnight will lead to minor flooding. The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a

* until this evening.

* At 3 AM Thursday the stage was 6.0 feet and rising.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.

* Forecast...The river will crest near 6.1 feet around 8 AM Thursday June 27 and then fall below flood stage Thursday afternoon.

* At 6.0 feet...Water approaches some houses around Skinner Lake, especially along State Road 8. &&

Never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow children to play in or near flood waters.
