FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Celebrating pride in the Fort. On Friday and Saturday, hundreds of people filled Headwater Park for the Fort Wayne Pride Festival.
The event included games, food, vendors and more.
Pride Fest gave individuals the opportunity to relate to one another.
The festival was not just limited to adults, kids were also welcomed.
It provides a space for kids to feel included.
While many celebrate pride, Pride Fest board member Jay Durnen explains why this event is meaningful to him.
"It’s about celebrating that I love myself and who I am and then also celebrating us as a community," said Durnen. "Filling one, filling together in a world when we’re so divided."
Durnen says they are going to keep expanding with more diversity and representation.
