department of education says only 47 percent of students statewide met expected achievement levels on the i-learn. superintendents from across the area tell fox 55's cody butler ... that should send a message to the state. time for change.that's the message superintendents across northeast indiana are sending to indianapolis. this spring was the first time every student in third to eighth grades took the i-learn test.it replaced the i-step. indiana superintendent of public instruction jennifer mccormick says ilearn uses tougher standards to determine if students are making sufficient progress.it was the sixth time indiana changed standardized testing since 2009.frustrating many superintendents ... like tony cassel at hamilton community schools. the issue is across the board. hamilton community schools is one of the smallest districts in the state with about 300 kids.meanwhile ... dr. wendy robinson is in charge of about 30-thousand students in fort wayne community schools. 3 that's why districts are standing together demanding change in the accountability system. the state board of education said today it won't take action on school letter grades until sheriff's office says 46- year-old terry pierce junior stole a semi from van wert. spencerville police in ohio tried to stop him when the 2 hour chase started.the chase ended on u-s 30 between van wert and the indiana state line when officers shot and killed pierce.it's still unclear how many times he was shot.the sheriff's office says only members of its swat team fired guns. a convoy man isn't hurt after he crash lands his ultralight aircraft in a field.it happened in van wert county this evening in a bean filed at the corner of lincoln highway and richey road. the van wert county sheriff's office says 32-year-old joshua huber was flying the aircraft when it crashed.the investigation into what happened continues and the f-a-a has been contacted. some driver and cooler air is arriving overnight. meteorologist alida donnelly is tracking the 3 it's smooth sailing for those of us who travel dupont road. construction is wrapped up and the trail along the road is getting plenty the time she was reported missing, we are looking for a little girl, we had no reason to believe that she had been murdered at that time,'skylea was one of seven children in the home. her father told
