this spring you may be thinking of doing some landscaping.but have you thought about what those plants in your front yard are doing to the environment. fox 55's abby jackson tells us a sustainable way to get the curb appeal you're looking for in tonight's going green. )organic gardening, native plants, and landscaping that encourages pollinators are all a part of the goal of a new landscaping company in fort wayne. )"sanctuary native 3 landscapes is a non- traditional landscape company in that our focus is to work with nature. we do this by working with the home owner to incorporate native plants that are indigenous to indiana and the midwest." )sean nolan, the owner and designer of sanctuary native landscapes says many people don't think about what's native to the area. )"we really probably have a little too much emphasis on mulch. so, you'll see a lot of landscapes that have large, mulch beds with individual plants placed throughout." )and while the native plants may not be your first choice, they actually require less long term maintenance and are critical to the food web for wild life. )"it's very important for the environment because historically we have sort of designed nature out of our landscapes. our landscapes traditionally are very static in that they're designed to sort of stay the same over time." )nolan says he can make your yard beautiful on top of eco-friendly. )"it's really, really important to have a better understanding of how these different plants work, and when you have that understanding, when you have that kind of knowledge, you can then know how to design them together." )all you have to do is call. )"they can call me at 232-1750." )for going green, i'm abby jackson.
