we're learning more about the new partnership between parkview health and cincinnati children's hospital.with cincinnati children's hospital being number two in the nation for pediatric health, parkview felt it was only right to collaborate especially being in the same region.fox 55's jentill neal explains how the partnership is going to help families with children receive better care. when it comes to health, anyone would want the best care even if that comes to flying across the country to make it happen, but fortunately for residents in indiana, they won't have to go far.>2:09-2:17"cincinnati treats patients from all fifty states so people are flying in. the advantage geographicall y is that this is very manageable trip if it's necessary."thomas miller is the physican leader for parkview women's and children's hospital. he says they've teamed up with cincinnati children's hospital to enhance the specialties they already have by focusing on general surgery, gastroenterology for pediatric patients and cardiology. 5:35-5:53"those were the greatest needs. those were the voids we needed to fill. we have phycians here that practice in those fields, but having the number two children's hospital in the country who rank very highly in these area's as our support is going to be important so that complex cases can be reviewed."the hospitals will work using telehealth consultations that will allow family and their parkview physician to conduct a video conference with a specialty physician from cincinnati. this partnership also includes case reviews and diagnostics to improve patients outcomes. the main goal right now is to make families experience as smooth as possible.4:39-4:53 "as a parent, you're worried about your kid. you don't want to worry about the other logistics."with this being the starting point, they are looking to expand into other programs and services in the future and meeting the needs of patients in the region.in fort wayne, jentill neal fox 55 news.
