Alida Donnelly comes to the FOX 55 Severe Weather Center Team from Illinois where she grew up in a suburb of Chicago.

Alida has always had a passion for weather, which she developed after watching a severe thunderstorm roll through her town and witnessed damage from lightning firsthand. She lived in an area like Fort Wayne with all four seasons which helped her expand her knowledge for various systems.

Alida attended Purdue University where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science. While at Purdue, Alida worked for Purdue University Fast Track, a program that airs throughout the Lafayette community, where she forecasted the weather and reported. She interned at WLFI in Lafayette and then at WTMJ in Milwaukee.

Before moving to Fort Wayne, Alida spent two years forecasting weather and reporting at WVNS in West Virginia, experiencing all the wild and wonderful things that the mountain state has to offer.

When she isn't working, Alida loves to spend time with her family and friends. She loves to cheer on her favorite sports teams, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Alida is very excited to continue her career at FOX 55 News and enjoy everything that Fort Wayne has to offer.

If you have any weather photos, don't hesitate to email her at adonnelly@wfft.com.
