Shawn Szydlowski has opted to sign with Frisk Asker, in Norway, instead of returning to the Komets next season.
Szydlowski spent five seasons in Fort Wayne, playing in 296 games, scoring 130 goals, tallying 320 points and 348 penalty minutes. Szydlowski took to Twitter to thank the Komets and their fans for the love and support during his tenure in the Summit City.
With the addition of Szydlowski leaving, the K's have now lost their top four scorers from a season ago. Mason Baptista, Gabriel Desjardins and Garrett Thompson each signed contracts with teams in Europe.
