FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Wisconsin Herd (17-16) defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (19-14), 108-99, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Thursday afternoon in front of a sellout crowd of 4,895.

Joel Bolomboy led all scorers with 24 points on 11-of-18 shooting and tied with a team-high seven rebounds on the afternoon. JeQuan Lewis and Cliff Alexander both came off the bench to contribute 18 and 16 points each.

It was a tale of two halves as the Mad Ants took a 14-point lead at the end of the first 24 minutes. Walt Lemon Jr. and Ben Moore each contributed nine points in the opening quarter, which propelled Fort Wayne to an early 33-17 lead. Thursday was Moore’s first game back with Fort Wayne after spending five games with the Indiana Pacers.

The second quarter was more of the same, but Wisconsin started to find the shooting of Bolomboy, who chipped in 10 points and went 4-of-6 from the floor in the quarter.

Wisconsin used a 15-of-22 shooting effort to begin the second half to shrink the deficit to five points going into the final 12 minutes.

The Mad Ants could only hang on to the lead for so long. Wisconsin would eventually take the lead, 96-94, on a long jumper from

Bolomboy with 3:57 remaining, and would not trail for the rest of the game.

Fort Wayne native James Blackmon Jr. returned to the Coliseum for his second game this season to score 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting in a starting role.

Lemon Jr. finished as the leading scorer for Fort Wayne with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting and seven rebounds. Moore tallied 17 off the bench on 7-of-9 shooting.

Glenn Robinson III, who was assigned from the Pacers this morning, finished with 12 points, three assists and two rebounds in 27 minutes. It was the first game for Robinson this year after undergoing left ankle surgery before the regular season began.

Ike Anigbogu, also on assignment from Indiana, finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Herd trail Fort Wayne by two games in the central division, and will host Memphis on Saturday, while Fort Wayne will be back in action against Long Island on Saturday as well.
