FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - Stefanos Lekkas is eager to get back and playing with the Fort Wayne Komets.
Lekkas signed with the K's following a very successful collegiate career at Vermont, where the netminder stopped 3,913 shots, which was good enough for fifth all-time in NCAA Division I history.

However, his stint with the Komets was cut short.

Lekkas appeared in one game, picking up his first career win, and stopping 32 of 34 shots in a 7-2 win over the Wichita Thunder.
The win would be the K's final game of the season after the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancelation of the ECHL season as a whole.
Now, as Lekkas gets set to come back to Fort Wayne for his first full season in a Komets' sweater, he says he wants to come in and prove he can be the top netminder for the K's.
