Kalamazoo would fight back in the second period.
After the Komets matched an early Wings goal, Kalamazoo ripped off two more to end the period and send the game to the third period tied at three.
Shaw would net his second of the game just over five minutes in to the third period, and the Komets would never trail again in their victory.
Drake Rymsha would add a goal at the 8:32 mark for some insurance.
The K's return to the Coliseum twice more this week on Friday and Saturday.
They'll host Toledo Friday at 8:05 p.m., with Indy coming to town Saturday.
