FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech baseball team returned to action on Tuesday afternoon as they battled the University of Saint Francis in the opening game of the Parkview Sports Medicine Baseball Series and came out on top with a 5-4 decision over their crosstown rivals at Parkview Field.
The Cougars struck first as Keaton Sullivan launched a two-run homer over the left field wall in the bottom of the first to take the early lead while the center fielder made it a 3-1 game in the third with an RBI fielder's choice in the third. The Warriors started their comeback in the fifth as Matt Bandor sent one over the seats in left to make it a 3-2 ball game while Tighe Koehring drove in Glen McClain with a sacrifice fly to knot the game up at three two batters later.

Saint Francis scored a run in the eighth and had the game-tying run 90 feet away and the game-winning run at the plate, but Zach Reid recorded the final three outs for his first save of the season to preserve the 5-4 win for Tech.
RJ Gaines notched his first win of the season after going 2.1 innings in relief and allowing just three hits. McClain with 2-5 with two runs and a double, while Ryan Meisenheimer all recorded a two-bagger.
