INDIANAPOLIS (WFFT) -- The Indianapolis Colts released its schedule for the 2020 NFL season Thursday night.

2020 Preseason

The Colts will open preseason play at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. It will mark the first preseason meeting between the teams since Aug. 27, 2016, when Philadelphia defeated Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium, 33-23. Since 1953, the Eagles lead the overall preseason series at 11-10.

In their second preseason contest, Indianapolis will host the Washington Redskins in primetime on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Since 1953, the two teams have squared off 29 times in preseason play with the Colts owning a 15-13-1 advantage. In their last preseason matchup on Aug. 25, 2012, the Redskins hosted and defeated Indianapolis, 30-17.

The Colts will travel to Buffalo for their third preseason game. Dating back to 1969, the two teams have met nine times in the preseason with the Bills leading the series at 5-4. Last year, Buffalo hosted Indianapolis on Aug. 8, 2019, and won, 24-16.

For the third consecutive year, Indianapolis will conclude preseason play on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals. The two teams have met in the preseason every year since 2001 and traditionally in the finale. The Bengals lead the preseason series record at 16-12 dating back to 1985. The Colts won last year’s matchup in Cincinnati, 13-6.

2020 Regular Season

In the regular season, along with their traditional matchups against AFC South Division opponents – Houston, Jacksonville and Tennessee – the Colts will face the AFC North and NFC North divisions. Indianapolis also will host the New York Jets and travel to play the Las Vegas Raiders.

In total, the Colts will face five playoff teams from the 2019 season, including Baltimore, Green Bay, Houston, Minnesota and Tennessee. Indianapolis will play in one primetime game in 2020.

  • In Week 1, Indianapolis will travel to Jacksonville. The Jaguars have won their last five games as the home team against the Colts, including their 2016 victory at London’s Wembley Stadium as part of the UK International Series. In the 2019 regular season finale, Indianapolis lost to Jacksonville, 38-20. Running back Marlon Mack compiled 77 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, linebacker Anthony Walker finished with a career-high 17 tackles (12 solo).
  • The Colts will host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 for the first time since 2012. Indianapolis owns a 16-7-1 all-time regular season record against Minnesota. The Colts have won the last five matchups with the Vikings and are 10-0 as the home team. Indianapolis traveled to Minnesota in Week 15 of the 2016 season and won 34-6. The Colts defense held the Vikings to 282 yards of total offense, including just 34 rushing yards.
  • In Week 3, Indianapolis will host the New York Jets. It will mark the 71st all-time regular season meeting between the teams with the Colts holding a 41-29 advantage, including 19-15 at home. In Week 6 of the 2018 season, New York hosted Indianapolis and won 42-34. Mack led all players with 89 rushing yards.

  • The Colts will travel to Chicago to face the Bears in Week 4. It will mark the 43rd all-time regular season contest between the teams with Indianapolis owning a 23-19 advantage (11-10 on the road). In Week 5 of the 2016 season, the Colts hosted Chicago and won, 29-23. Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton finished with 10 receptions for 171 yards and one touchdown. The Indianapolis defense forced three fumbles.
  • In Week 5, Indianapolis will travel to Cleveland. It will mark the 30th all-time regular season meeting between the teams with the Colts owning a 15-14 advantage, including 8-5 in Cleveland. In Week 3 of the 2017 season, Indianapolis hosted Cleveland and won, 31-28. Hilton totaled seven receptions for 153 yards and one touchdown.

  • The Colts will host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6. Indianapolis is 17-12 all-time against Cincinnati in the regular season, including 9-7 at home. In the 2018 season opener, the Colts hosted the Bengals and were defeated, 34-23. Hilton caught five passes for 46 yards and one touchdown.
  • Following a bye week in Week 7, Indianapolis will travel to Detroit in Week 8 for the first time since 2012. The teams have played 42 times in the regular season, with the Colts leading the series at 21-19-2 (10-9-1 on the road). In the 2016 season opener, Detroit traveled to Indianapolis and won, 39-35. Hilton compiled six receptions for 79 yards, while tight end Jack Doyle caught two touchdowns.
  • In Week 9, the Colts will host the Baltimore Ravens. Indianapolis owns an 8-4 all-time regular season record against Baltimore, including 5-0 as the home team. In Week 16 of the 2017 season, the Ravens hosted the Colts and won, 23-16. Hilton led all players with six receptions for 100 yards. Defensively, cornerback Kenny Moore II led the team with eight solo tackles and added one pass defensed and one forced fumble.
  • Indianapolis will travel to Nashville in Week 10 to face the Titans in primetime on Thursday Night Football. Since 2009, the Colts have a 9-2 record in Tennessee. Last season, Indianapolis defeated the Titans in Week 2, 19-17. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett completed 17-of-28 passes for 146 yards with three touchdowns and one interception for a 95.2 passer rating. The Colts defense held the Titans to 243 yards of total offense.
  • In Week 11, Indianapolis will host the Green Bay Packers for the first time since 2012. It will mark the 44th all-time regular season meeting between the teams with the Colts holding a 22-20-1 advantage (13-8-1 at home). In Week 9 of the 2016 season, Indianapolis traveled to Green Bay and defeated the Packers 31-26. Hilton caught six passes for 82 yards and Doyle finished with five receptions for 61 yards.
  • The Colts will host the Tennessee Titans in Week 12. Indianapolis own a 19-8 record against Tennessee in Indy and are 10-2 in the last 12 matchups at home. The Colts hosted the Titans in Week 13 of the 2019 season and lost, 31-17. Wide receiver Zach Pascal established career highs in receptions (seven) and receiving yards (109). Linebacker Darius Leonard led all players in tackles (12) and sacks (2.0).
  • In Week 13, Indianapolis will travel to Houston to face the Texans. The Colts are 12-6 all-time against the Texans in Houston and have won five of the last seven road games. In 2019, Indianapolis was defeated by the Texans in Week 12 on Thursday Night Football, 20-17. Moore II tied for the team lead with eight tackles (five solo) and also tallied one interception and one pass defensed.
  • The Colts will travel to Las Vegas for the first time to face the Raiders in Week 14. The Raiders lead the overall regular season series record at 9-7 and are 4-5 as the home team. Last season, the Raiders defeated the Colts in a Week 4 matchup in Indianapolis, 31-24. Brissett completed 24-of-46 passes for 265 yards with three touchdowns and one interception for an 82.2 passer rating.
  • In Week 15, Indianapolis will host the Houston Texans. The Colts own a 15-3 home record against the Texans. The Colts won 13 consecutive home games against Houston from 2002 to 2014. Last season, Indianapolis defeated Houston in Week 7, 30-23. Brissett completed 26-of-39 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns for a 126.7 passer rating en route to earning AFC Offensive Player of the Week recognition for the first time in his career. He established new single-game career highs in passing yards, passing touchdowns and passer rating. Pascal (106 yards) registered his first career 100-yard receiving game while adding a career-high two touchdowns.
  • For the second consecutive season, the Colts will travel to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers in Week 16. Pittsburgh leads the all-time regular season series at 19-6 and have won the last six matchups. Last season, the Colts lost to the Steelers in Week 9, 26-24. Pascal compiled five receptions for 76 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Walker led all players with 10 tackles (seven solo)
  • Indianapolis will conclude the 2020 regular season at home against Jacksonville in Week 17. The Colts are 14-5 all-time against the Jaguars at home and 6-1 in their last seven meetings in Indy. Last season, Indianapolis defeated Jacksonville in Week 11, 33-13. The Colts compiled 264 rushing yards as Jonathan Williams (116 yards) and Mack (109 yards) became just the fourth pair of running backs in team history to register 100 rushing yards in the same game. Defensively, Moore II led the team with eight solo tackles and added 1.0 sack and one pass defensed.
