Teenager dead in Huntington County crash

Police said around 7:30 a.m. Saturday Payton Boucher, 17, was northbound on county road 600 west near SR 218, and ran a stop sign, according to Police. A semi, driven by Brett Godfrey, 55, was eastbound on SR 218 when Boucher hit the tires of the trailer on the passenger side.

HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WFFT)- One person is dead after a crash in Huntington County early Saturday morning. 

Police said around 7:30 a.m. Saturday Payton Boucher, 17, was northbound on county road 600 west near SR 218, and drove through a stop sign. A semi, driven by Brett Godfrey, 55, was eastbound on SR 218 when Boucher hit the tires of the trailer on the passenger side.

Boucher's vehicle was dragged several hundred feet, and caught fire, before coming to a rest on the roadway. 

Boucher was pronounced dead at the scene, and extricated from the vehicle. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma. Godfrey was not injured in the crash.
