BUTLER, Ind. (WFFT) — The city of Butler has issued a boil advisory for residents effective Thursday.
The city's water department says a water main break caused a loss of water pressure in their water distribution system.
They believe the loss of water pressure could have allowed contamination to enter the system.
Residents who live on West Green Street are advised to boil their water before consumption until further notice.
The city says residents should boil water at least five minutes and allow it to cool before drinking it.
The areas affected by the boil advisory are:
- 200 Block of West Green Street
- 300 Block of West Green Street
- 400 Block of West Green Street
- 500 Block of West Green Street
