FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- Martin Luther King Junior was a YMCA member.
Monday members and volunteers did a day of service in his honor.
There were two service projects Monday.
One this morning where they teamed up with neighbor link to paint the home of a disabled veteran and do a deep cleaning.
The second project consisted of getting another home ready for a family to move into in the Vincent Village housing program.
"We start the year off serving on a great day like today, and it kind of gets you in the mind of what else can you do throughout the year," Tim Hallman said.
They had about 20 volunteers Monday of all ages working from 10 this morning until 6.
