Woman killed, 2 children wounded inside car found in Fort Wayne alley

Police say the children, ages 2 and 5, were treated for minor injuries caused by broken glass.

FORT WAYNE, IN (WFFT) -- Fort Wayne police are investigating the death of a woman found shot multiple times inside a car with two small children. 

Police responded to a shooting at the 2500 block of South Anthony Boulevard at 9:42 p.m.

Officers found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds inside a red car parked in an alley.

Police say two children, ages 2 and 5, were in the backseat with minor injuries from the broken glass. 

The woman was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

Her name has been released

UPDATE: VICTIM IDENTIFIED IN FORT WAYNE TUESDAY NIGHT SHOOTING

Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood looking for witnesses.
