Woman escapes without injuries after car catches fire

The woman told FOX 55 she was stopped at the light just before 2:00 p.m. when her car started smoking.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- A woman escaped unharmed after her car caught on fire at the intersection of Goshen Road and Coliseum Blvd. Saturday afternoon.

The woman told FOX 55 News she was stopped at the light just before 2:00 p.m. when her car started smoking. That's when she got out and the car caught on fire.

A passing family let the woman sit with them while crews worked to put out the blaze.

Firefighters had the car fire under control in a matter of minutes.

It's unclear what caused the fire.
