FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — A judge set bond at $250,000 for the woman accused of stabbing her mother to death Wednesday morning.
Kannishewa Whitley was charged with battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery.



Stacy Jennings was found with several stabs in Whitley's apartment at the Villages of Hanna around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Court documents state Jennings recently moved in with Whitley and the two argued about drugs in the apartment.
Whitley told detectives she eventually fell asleep in the living room and woke up to Jennings fondling her.

Court documents state that's when Whitley and Jennings began physically fighting.
Jennings grabbed two knives from the kitchen.
Records state Jennings threw one knife at Whitley but missed.
Jennings charged Whitley with the other knife but Whitley gained control and stabbed Jennings several times.
Jennings died at the scene.
