FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- One Fort Wayne Community Schools board member was voted out while another was voted to stay on even though he wanted out.
It's one of many interesting turnouts revealed by results released by the Allen County Election Board Wednesday night.
The results showed District 3 incumbent Thomas Smith beat challenger William Critell by a slim margin of 239 votes, even though Smith told The Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette in September that he wanted his opponent to win.
District 2 results showed newcomer Jennifer Matthias beat incumbent Glenna Jehl by a margin of 40% to 33%.
Regenia Jones finished third with nearly 27% of the vote.
In District 5, incumbent Steve Corona beat challenger Jose Dominguez handlily by a margin of 64 to 36%.
The Smith-Critell race wasn't even the closest race of the night.
Northwest Allen County Schools Board Member Steve Bartkus beat Zachary Felger by just 37 votes, according to the results.
Southwest Allen County Schools District 1 Board Member Bradley Mills won re-election over Paul Moss with nearly 70% of the vote.
In the race for the at-large seat, Jennifer Bennett captured 42% of the vote to defeat Tracy Bilodeau (29.2% and Scott Myers (28.6%).
