FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - We're tracking wintry weather expected to move through the area later Monday afternoon and into Tuesday. This system will cause slick roads throughout NE Indiana and NW Ohio late Monday into Tuesday. So, use caution if you have to drive during this time.
The snow will start into the later afternoon on Monday in place south of Fort Wayne. It'll then spread north in the evening on Monday, lasting into Tuesday. Once the snow is wrapped up on late Tuesday, places to the north of Fort Wayne could see 3-5"+ of snow, while the Summit City will be closer to the 1-1.5" range. Places to the south of Fort Wayne, up to 1" of snow accumulation is possible.

Temperatures throughout the day on Monday will climb right around the freezing mark and we'll have a little bit warmer air above us in the atmosphere. This means we will likely see some freezing rain across the area. In terms of freezing rain accumulation once the system is done, some very isolated spots of 0.2" ice accumulation could form, but most everyone south of US 6 could see up to 0.1"
