FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Record heat continued across Europe Thursday.
According to the UK Met Office, temperatures at Heathrow Airport climbed to 33.3 degrees Celsius. That's roughly 92 degrees Fahrenheit. So far, it's the hottest day of 2020 in the UK.
Wednesday, temperatures peaked around 29 to 30 degrees Celsius across the UK. That equals the mid 80s in Fahrenheit. London's Heathrow Airport recorded a temperature of 32.6 degrees Celsius.
The hottest UK maximum temperature in June is 35.6 degrees Celsius or 96 degrees Fahrenheit. That record occurred in Southampton on June 28, 1976.
Typically in June, the UK enjoys temperatures in the 60s.
Closer to home, the heat and humidity is beginning to rise, but it's not going to be in the 90s.
