FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Our next system pushes showers and thunderstorms into the region near daybreak Friday.
The first wave of activity should remain below severe limits and exit near the middle of the morning.
A strong storm containing gusty winds and heavy downpours cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures soar into the upper 80s and lower 90s behind the warm front Friday afternoon and very humid air moves in.
It’ll be quite feeling tropical.
If the clouds break and allow for some sunshine, the threat for strong to severe storms will be higher.
If we keep the clouds, the threat will be lower.
If the storms materialize, the second round will develop Friday afternoon between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Damaging winds are the main concern, but heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding.
Unfortunately, a tropical system in the Gulf has changed the weekend outlook.
The weekend will be hot and humid, with highs in the 80s.
Storm chances are possible late Sunday.
