FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- This year, April 22, marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
It is a day celebrated around the world to demonstrate support for the environment and over 190 countries are part of the network.
According to Earthday.org, 1 billion people around the globe usually partake in this event.
Because of the global pandemic and social distancing, Earth Day 2020 is going digital.
It is expected to be the largest online climate conference ever held.
According to the press release, over 100 speakers from five continents will participate in Earth Day week which will be held daily from April 20 to 25.
The public will be able to watch and interact with the conference from the comfort of their homes.
