WATERLOO, Ind. (WFFT) -- A Waterloo man is in jail after police say he shot another man in a trailer park early Friday morning.
Waterloo police responded to 670 E. Union St. at 1 a.m. Friday but the victim was already gone.
They say he arrived at Parkview-DeKalb Hospital.
He was later taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
His condition is believed to be non-life threatening.
Indiana State Police say they took over the investigation and identified 34-year-old Jeffrey William Lucas Ecklid as the suspect.
Troopers say they were preparing to serve a search warrant at Ecklid's home at 5 a.m. when he came out of the home and surrendered.
Ecklid is being held at the DeKalb County Jail on a charge of attempted murder.
