FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the vman who was killed in Thursday's crash on Interstate 69 near the 315 mile marker that happened around 7:45 p.m.
The victim has been identified as 49-year-old John P. Langin, of Fort Wayne.
Langin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner has determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma due to motor vehicle crash and the manner of
death is accident.
John Langin is the 1st motor vehicle crash fatality in Allen County for 2020.
Two women were also injured in the Thursday night crash.
One has life-threatening injuries and the other had non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses told police the vehicle exited I-469 onto the I-69 northbound ramp but failed to negotiate the curve.
Police say the vehicle left the road, entered the grass, and then returned onto I-69 where it overturned and slid across all three lanes.
Police say the vehicle almost struck at least one other vehicle before it hit the center median.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
