Van Wert seeing tourism boom

VAN WERT, Ohio (WFFT) - Van Wert county is seeing a tourism boom.

The Van Wert Convention Visitors Bureau says people from outside the area spent around $43 million last year. A study found many people from across the country are stopping by for performances and museums in Van Wert. That has people in town excited about the future.

One attraction that is catching locals off guard is the Van Wert County Court House.

Larry Lee of the Convention Visitor Bureau says many people will stop and take pictures thinking it is a cathedral.
