VAN WERT, Ohio (WFFT) — The Van Wert Police Department is urging parents to inspect their children's candy that they receive from trick-or-treating.
Over the weekend, a parent discovered a piece of unlabeled orange candy that had a needle inside and turned it in to police.
The clear packaging on the candy only had text on it which says "NOT LABELED FOR INDIVIDUAL RETAIL SALE."
Van Wert held its trick-or-treating hours on Oct. 26.
The Van Wert Police Department said they would not comment on this issue until their investigation was finished.
