Two dead, three hurt after crash in Huntington

One vehicle was northbound on US 24 when it went left of the center and into the path of a second vehicle. After hitting the second vehicle, it spun into the path of a third vehicle.

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WFFT)- Two people are dead, and three others were sent to the hospital after a three vehicle crash Friday night. 

It happened around 7:11 p.m. in the area of 24 E. and CR 600 N. 

One vehicle was northbound on US 24 when it went left of the center and into the path of a second vehicle. After hitting the second vehicle, it spun into the path of a third vehicle. 

The occupants of the first car, Alexander Jay Capes and Merissa Chantaye Lewis, were pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the second vehicle, Heather Kindler, and the two people in the third vehicle Kayla Bitzel and Carolyn Jett were transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center. 

The crash is under investigation.
