FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - Friday afternoon was a little sketchy for one Fort Wayne mother who saw a van in her Pine Valley neighborhood.
"I pulled up behind them and they ended up speeding off, and the girl was all shaken up because they had been following her and she couldn't run home because she didn't want them to know where she lived," she explained.
The mother who asked not to be identified said two men have been going around selling child safety ID kits in case your child goes missing.
She said they showed up at her home the evening before.
She said while there are companies that do this.
These two men did not say which company they worked for.
Her neighbor who also wished to not be identified said they were following her daughter.
Fort Wayne Police Sgt. Sofia Rosales-Scatena said the best thing to do is report it straight to police if you feel you're being followed.
Rosales-Scatena said often times these situations go unreported and straight to social media.
"In this case, there was a report made where two men were following a young lady around the addition, but it's not something we see generally on a daily basis," she explained.
