FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is closing the Tree Canopy Trail and the playground at Promenade Park.
The closure is to allow for additional construction work.
The elevated trail, which opened over the summer, is set for scheduled upgrades, including the installation of new handrails.
Its closure begins on Nov. 6 and will last through the end of February 2020.
"We engineered it so it was very safe, but it was just a temporary handrail. We wanted to make sure it was open for everyone to use for the last couple months," Director of Fort Wayne Parks and Rec Steve McDaniel said.
There weren't any safety concerns.
