Train hits tow truck in DeKalb County

Police were called just after 8:00 p.m. to the 6000 block of State Road 101 in reference to a disabled vehicle. Officers on scene called a wrecker service to move the car.

DEKALB CO, Ind. (WFFT)- A train collided with a tow truck Tuesday evening in DeKalb County after it was called to move a car off the tracks. 

Police were called just after 8:00 p.m. to the 6000 block of State Road 101 in reference to a disabled vehicle. Officers on scene called a wrecker service to move the car. 

The tow truck driver was told to remove their equipment from the tracks until they were shut down. He did not move his truck in time and a train hit the driver's side door.  

No one was hurt, but both vehicles were totaled.
