FORT WAYNE, Ind (WFFT) -- Fort Wayne students are emptying out their lockers for the year, but some still have some work to do before they graduate.
Salutatorians and Valedictorians all taking to their high schools to say their graduation speeches, have them recorded, and put on the big screen.
"It was easier saying it and recording it here, "says Manuel Lopez.
Lopez is Valedictorian at Northrop High School and says he was looking forward to speaking in front of his family and friends, but this will do.
"I could do this as much as I want," he says.
It wasn't just the speech to deal with, but the new normal of schoolwork he and his classmates had to adjust to as well.
Balancing school and sports, COVID-19 presented itself as a new challenge, but one Lopez didn't let stop him.
"If I'm being honest with myself, I'm trying to get to a certain standard," he says. "I'm not thinking about other people but what I can do."
