FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The City of Fort Wayne teamed up with Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana to provide work opportunities for those with disabilities.
This programming is a result of additional revenue collected by the state through income taxes and distributed to the city.
The $500,000 received will go toward improving the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families.
“I healthcare we're going to working with Parkview in conjunction to identify what makes a good candidate for them to hire in the healthcare industry. We're going to be doing the same thing with manufacturing as well as the hospitality sector," CEO Donna Elbercht said.
More than 60 percent of people served by Easterseals Arc are currently enrolled in employment-related services.
