BUTLER, Ind. (WFFT) — One person was injured in a collision Sunday afternoon in DeKalb County.
Just before 2:45 p.m. Sunday, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department was called to the intersection of State Road 1 and County Road 63 east of Butler regarding a collision.
Deputies said a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 17-year-old girl from Hicksville, Ohio was traveling south on C.R. 65A.
The second vehicle involved was a 2000 Toyota 4Runner, driven by 18-year Chase A. Leeper of Butler was traveling west bound on State Road 1.
Deputies said the driver of the Malibu stopped at the stop sign at the intersection and then continued to drive through the intersection, pulling in front of Leeper's SUV.
Then Leeper's SUV crashed into the area of the Malibu's driver-side door.
Investigators said both vehicles came to rest on the southside intersection of S.R. 1 and C.R. 63 in the in eastbound lane.
The driver of the Malibu was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
