FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)-On Wednesday, students at Towles Intermediate School loaded up a truck to send relief kits to Syria.
The 7th graders collected enough supplies to create 93 Syrian relief kits for their we are Syria project. The students learn about the history of Syria and the Syrian refugee crises. Each kit included 4 bars of soap, shampoo, 4 bars of laundry soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads and more.
"It was something that helped everyone. If anyone gets a chance to help at all, I recommend that the should," said student Nicholas Stahl.
Friends of the Third World, a Fort Wayne organization that raises money to help poverty stricken countries, partnered with the students and will ship off the relief kits.
