SILVER LAKE, Ind. (WFFT)- Friday's severe weather brought down countless trees and power lines.
Warren Spratt and his wife watched from their home as nature took over.
"It kinda started out slow and windy. It didn't take it long to progress to a lot of rain and wind. I went upstairs to shut windows. My wife was downstairs. she said you better get down here because it's coming off. By that time, it was a big crash outside and she looked out. By the time I got down everything was over with,"Spratt said.
That loud crash they heard was a tree. It damaged the side of Randy Lemler's home and the rides outside- even knocking out the back window on one of the cars.
"We just stood in there and watched it because after that burst went through here, it was kinda calm," he added.
While Lemler and his family were heading toward their safe place in the basement, they heard the crash too.
"This is the most damage I think I've ever seen," Randy Lemler said.
Luckily with help from Spratt and Lemler's family members, they're working on clearing the street and the backyard. They've been at it for hours.
"We had to go through contacting the insurance company and the town and everything. Since this morning, my friends and family have come together, and we've just about got it cleaned up. We have the roof secured now with temporary cover on it so it's not leaking anymore," he explained.
The only one injured in this ordeal happens to be the dog but lemler says he's fine now.
"Fortunately all four of my family members, myself, and the other three were safe."
