FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — A Friday night crash on the city's northeast side sent two drivers to the hospital, according to police.
On Friday, just after 7:15 p.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 5200 Bblock of Stellhorn Road in for a car crash with injuries.
Dispatchers say they received several calls that a driver involved in the crash was pinned inside his Ford Taurus.
Investigators say the second vehicle involved was a Ford Expedition.
They said the Taurus was going westbound on Stellhorn Road and the Expedition was traveling southbound on Manistee Drive and failed to yield.
The Expedition pulled out onto Stellhorn and collided with the Taurus.
After the driver of the Taurus was freed from his car, both drivers were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Physicians reported the driver of the Taurus had life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Expedition had minor injuries.
Investigators say speeding was a factor in the crash.
Stellhorn Road, between Reed Road and Woodway Drive, was closed to all traffic while crash Investigators processed the scene.
