FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- Skyline Tower in downtown Fort Wayne is officially open.
Great Lakes Capital and Bradley Company along with Fort Wayne Mayer Tom Henry cut the ribbon Thursday morning to make it official.
The $42 million development has 12 floors, 123 apartments and 30,000 square feet of commercial space. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is on the first floor and First Merchants Bank is on the second. The completion of the tower marks downtown's ongoing evolution as an emerging housing market.
"This is an example of how Fort Wayne is working to position itself as a contender in the region. I can tell you from experience there are not that many communities that evolve like we here in Fort Wayne, said Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry.
Right now, 60% of the apartments in Skyline Tower are already pre-leased.
