FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - The ice rink at Headwaters Park downtown is back open for the season.

Many skaters braved the cold and the rain to be one of the first people on the ice.

About 20,000 people attend the winter attraction every year.

The ice rink has opened the weekend before Thanksgiving for the last 15 years.

Skaters Sunday said they're going to make it a tradition.

"Recently, a buddy of mine got me into hockey so I've been watching more of that so I figured I'd try out the skates," said Cody Campbell.

Tickets to skate costs $5.00 for adults.

The rink is open every day except Christmas.
