WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WFFT) — Police say a man is dead after he and his van were hit by a semi-truck driving down the highway while parked on the side of the road late Sunday night.
Just after 9:45 p.m. Sunday, troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 30 near mile 20 in Washington Township, Van Wert County.

Troopers say the truck involved was a 2015 Freightliner semi being driven by 66-year-old Glen Anderson, of Rochester, Indiana was traveling eastbound on U.S. 30.
A 2008 Chrysler van, owned by 44-year-old Jeffrey Brown, of Delphos was broken down and parked on the right shoulder of U.S. 30 east.
Investigators say Anderson’s semi went outside of its lane and onto the side of the road striking the left side of Brown’s van.
OSHP says Brown, who was standing on the left side of his van making repairs, was also struck.
Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by the Van Wert County Coroner’s Office.
It is unclear if Anderson will face any charges.
This crash remains under investigation.
