FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) -- Southwest Allen County Schools announced that Park Ginder was selected as their candidate for superintendent on Tuesday.
The Southwest Allen School County Board of Trustees said they were blessed to have so many qualified candidates for the position — but the one who stuck out the most was Ginder, principal of Homestead High School.
With nearly 35 years of experience under his belt, SACS says they're confident in their new choice for superintendent.
Ginder joined Southwest Allen County Schools in 2013 after years as an assistant principal and teacher in neighboring districts.
“I enjoy the experience of being in school. Not that I didn’t enjoy summer vacation I loved that too. There’s something about learning, reading being with others, doing the same kinds of things has been exciting. Because of that I think those are things I can fold into our work year,” Dr. Ginder said.
Ginder says there’s a lot to do — addressing how to transition out of the COVID-19 pandemic is his main concern.
A public meeting to discuss the superintendent contract will take place June 15th and the final board approval will take place June 22nd.
