FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - The Fort Wayne Rescue Mission announced the naming rights to its new building on Washington Blvd. Monday morning.
The new location is named the "W. Paul Wolf Rescue Mission," sources the name of its benefactor for nearly 60 years.
W. Paul Wolf began his monetary and philanthropic support in 1963 by backing the Rescue Mission on Superior Street that most Fort Wayne residents know.
Rescue Mission President and Chief Executive Officer Donovan Coley says, “At this particular time in our capital campaign, to recognize and to honor our lead gift is really overdue.”
The new building boasts three levels, including more kitchen space, expanded chapel capacity, elevators for handicap, a hospital room for aid, and two times the sleeping space of the original location.
Coley says, "Word is on the street. And we’re looking to serving the needs of our community.”
The Rescue Mission team aims to open the new location by end of July or early August.
