FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - Motorsports is back in the Summit City.
Saturday night is the first race of the season Baer Field Motorsports Park.
It is a week later than expected because of last week's rain.
The Outlaw Super Late Models will headline Saturday's event.
New this year is three days of racing in July ... with the "Crown Jewel Weekend" July 5-7.
Track officials said the goal is to improve the fan experience.
"Back in the day the drivers were basically daredevils. We've kind of gotten away from that so now the drivers need to get back and get with their fans talk to them and make new fans," said Dave Muzzillo, Baer Field Motorsports Park.
This is the 56th season of competition at Baer Field Motorsports Park.
