DECATUR, Ind (WFFT) -- The transportation industry is seeing significant sales increases since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March, and some believe it is playing a big part in that.
A job fair in Decatur brought dozens out to apply for jobs with REV Group and Goldshield Fiberglass.
The companies are looking to fill about 100 positions for the production of Recreational Vehicles.
"We were surprised we had people lined up about 50 in the first hour," says Doug Hormann.
As unemployment rates continue to remain high, Mariea Moreland says the opportunity to help others is a great thing.
"Some have been unemployed for a while," Moreland says.
Trailers and mobile homes at Sullivan RVs are being sold at a much higher rate.
Todd Brown says sales are up about 30 to 40 percent from this time last year, and say many are choosing the camper lifestyle, instead of traveling and staying in hotels or taking flights.
"When we came back it was crazy," Brown says.
