Police warn of mail thefts in Indiana and Ohio

Van Wert County Sheriff Tom Riggenbach said someone is stealing mail right from people's mailboxes.

VAN WERT COUNTY, Ohio (WFFT) - Police are encouraging people to double check their mail.

Van Wert County Sheriff Tom Riggenbach said someone is stealing mail right from people's mailboxes.

The thefts have been reported over the last 10 days in Adams, Wells and Van Wert Counties.

Riggenbach suggested people check their mail daily and no not leave anything in your mailbox overnight.

The U.S. Postal Inspector is also working the case.

Since mail was stolen, federal charges are possible in the case.
