ANGOLA, Ind. (WFFT) -- Authorities in Steuben County are investigating a woman's death after the coroner ruled that someone killed her this week.
The Steuben County Sheriff's Office and the Indiana State Police are investigating a death at a residence on Lake James in Steuben County's Pleasant Township.
On Wednesday just after 12:30 p.m., deputies with the Steuben County Sheriff's Office and EMS responded to the 300 block of Lake James Lane 200 East after a woman was found unresponsive inside the house.
First responders aid the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Steuben County deputies at the scene say the woman's death "appeared unusual and suspicious."
The victim was identified as an 82-year-old Wilma Ball of Angola.
The Steuben County Coroner's Office ruled Ball's death a homicide after an autopsy was done.
No information of a potential suspect has been released yet.
This homicide remains under investigation by authorities in Steuben County.
