Police investigate hit and run moped crash

A moped with two people on it was driving north when it was hit. The vehicle that collided with the moped left the scene.

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WFFT)- Police in Kosciusko County are investigating after a vehicle hit a moped and left the scene Sunday morning, leaving two people hurt. 

Police said they responded around 12:00 a.m. the area of State Road 15 and Monoquet Road. 

A moped with two people on it was driving north when it was hit. The vehicle that collided with the moped left the scene. 

Emergency responders found the operator, 44-year-old Michael McGrath, and his passenger, 42-year-old Shelly McGrath, on the side of the road. 

Michael McGrath was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne with head injuries. Shelly McGrath's Injuries were non-life threatening. She was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
