Police asking for public's assistance identifying robbery suspect

Police were called to the Subway at 4935 Bluffton Road around 8:50 p.m. on June 11th.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT)- Detectives in Fort Wayne are asking for the public's help identifying a robbery suspect. 

The person in the picture above is believed to be the driver of the getaway car. 

Police were  called to the Subway at 4935 Bluffton Road around 8:50 p.m. on June 11th. Officers responded in reference to black man wearing a blue hoodie and black pants robbing the store at gunpoint. 

The suspect left in a silver Dodge van missing a front hub cap. He went southbound on Bluffton Road. 

The Subway employee told police the driver of the van came into the store asking customers for money first, then went back outside. The passenger of the van was a black man in his 40s to 50s. That passenger reportedly came inside the store and sat down at a table. 

The employee said as he was coming out of the employee door, the suspect stood up, pointed a small pistol at him, and demanded cash. 

The employee ducked back through the door, and saw the suspect try to get inside the register. He was unsuccessful, but did get away with change from the coin register.
